Sana’a — Residents of the Yemeni capital reported hearing a series of powerful, unexplained explosions late Friday night at the Sarf and Khashm al-Bakra military camps, both under the control of Houthis.

According to eyewitness accounts, the blasts echoed repeatedly across the area in intervals, sparking speculation about their source. Some residents suggested the sounds may have been linked to military drills or weapons testing inside the sites. 

Others believed the noises could be associated with underground excavation, amid growing reports that the Houthis are expanding tunnel networks beneath several military installations and areas under their control.

The incidents, which occurred in the late hours of the night, added to public unease in Sana’a, where Houthi forces have long been accused of fortifying positions and conducting covert military activities. No official statement has been issued by the group regarding the cause of the explosions.

The reports come at a time of heightened tension in Yemen, with ongoing conflict continuing to disrupt civilian life and fuel uncertainty across the country.
