Sana’a — Local sources reported that a 15-year-old boy was killed inside the Great Mosque of Sana’a during a closed session organized by Houthi militias late Friday.

Witnesses said the incident occurred while the Houthis were holding a restricted gathering inside the historic mosque. 

Details surrounding the circumstances of the boy’s death remain unclear, but the case has sparked outrage among residents who expressed concern over the use of religious sites for militia-led activities.

Community members noted that the Great Mosque, one of Yemen’s most prominent religious landmarks, has increasingly been used by the Houthis for indoctrination sessions and closed meetings. 

The boy’s death has raised questions about safety and accountability within such gatherings.

No official statement has yet been issued by Houthi authorities regarding the incident.
