Geneva — The World Health Organization (WHO) announced the launch of emergency airlift operations carrying medical supplies worth more than $3 million to support urgent health responses in Yemen, Gaza, and Libya.

According to the organization, the shipments include essential medicines, surgical kits, and life-saving equipment aimed at strengthening overstretched health systems in the three crisis-hit regions. 

WHO emphasized that the airlifts are part of its broader humanitarian mission to ensure access to critical care for populations affected by conflict and instability.

In Yemen, the supplies are expected to bolster hospitals struggling with shortages amid ongoing conflict and widespread displacement. 

In Gaza, the aid will provide urgent support to facilities overwhelmed by casualties and lacking basic resources. In Libya, the deliveries target communities impacted by political turmoil and natural disasters, where health services remain fragile.

WHO officials stressed that the initiative reflects the organization’s commitment to rapid response in emergencies, highlighting the need for sustained international support to protect civilians and maintain essential health services.
