Oslo — Yemen is expected to remain one of the world’s most violent conflict zones over the coming year, according to a new report issued Wednesday by the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO).
The international research center, which specializes in studies of peace and conflict, projected that Yemen will rank ninth among the top ten conflict areas globally most likely to be the deadliest in 2026.
The assessment highlights the enduring severity of Yemen’s war, now in its second decade, and underscores the challenges facing efforts to stabilize the country amid ongoing political fragmentation, humanitarian crises, and the persistence of armed clashes.
