Flash Floods Claim Lives of Four Family Members in Yemen’s Ibb Province
Ibb – A devastating flash flood swept through the Al-Mashannah valley in Ibb Governorate, central Yemen, killing four members of the same family in a tragic incident that has shaken the local community.
Local sources confirmed that the victims—a husband, wife, and their two daughters—were traveling by car when torrential rains turned the valley into a raging waterway. The vehicle was carried away by the floodwaters, resulting in the deaths of all four passengers. Remarkably, one child survived the ordeal.
Footage circulating on social media shows the intensity of the flood and the destruction it caused. Rescue teams and residents have since launched search operations to locate any additional missing persons and assess the damage.
This incident marks the fourth fatal flood-related event in Ibb within two weeks, highlighting the urgent need for improved infrastructure and emergency preparedness in the region.
