Saudi Arabia welcomes Yemen ceasefire to protect international navigation

Saudi Arabia welcomed the ceasefire in Yemen, announced by Oman, aiming to protect international navigation and trade, the Kingdom’s foreign ministry said on Wednesday.
Oman said a day earlier that it mediated a ceasefire deal between Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis and the US.
Saudi Arabia “welcomed the statement issued by the Sultanate of Oman regarding the reaching of a ceasefire in Yemen with the aim of protecting international navigation and trade,” the foreign ministry said in a statement, referring to Houthi strikes on Red Sea shipping.
