Over 8,000 Houthi Violations Documented Against Civilians in Yemen’s Al-Bayda Governorate

Al-Bayda – The Human Rights Association in Al-Bayda Governorate has documented more than 8,000 violations committed by the Houthi group against civilians since the beginning of the conflict, shedding light on the ongoing humanitarian toll in central Yemen.
According to the association’s recent report, the documented abuses include arbitrary killings, enforced disappearances, torture, and the targeting of homes and public facilities with explosives. The victims range from women and children to elderly individuals, many of whom were subjected to displacement, intimidation, and loss of property.
The report highlights a systematic pattern of repression and brutality that has severely undermined civil life in Al-Bayda, particularly in districts such as Rada’a, Wald Rabi’, and Al-Quraishyah.
It also accuses the group of obstructing humanitarian access and interfering with the work of aid organizations.
Local rights defenders have called for international pressure on the Houthis to cease violations and respect international humanitarian law. They also urged the United Nations and global human rights bodies to conduct independent investigations and ensure accountability for abuses.
The documentation comes amid a wider escalation in violence across Yemen, with renewed clashes reported in several governorates despite ongoing peace efforts.
