Hadramout -- Tensions have escalated in Hadramout governorate, eastern Yemen, following the deployment of tribal armed groups to PetroMasila oil installations, one of the country’s most vital energy assets. 

Local sources reported that tribal forces established positions inside and around the facilities, raising concerns about potential disruption to oil production and export operations.

The move comes amid growing disputes between tribal leaders and government authorities over resource management, revenue distribution, and local grievances. 

Observers warn that the deployment could further destabilize Hadramout, a province already struggling with economic hardship and security challenges.

PetroMasila, Yemen’s largest oil company, plays a critical role in sustaining the country’s fragile economy. 

Any interruption in its operations would have serious implications for national revenues and humanitarian conditions, particularly as Yemen faces one of the world’s worst crises.

Government officials in Aden have condemned the tribal mobilization, describing it as a threat to national interests and energy security. 

Negotiations are reportedly underway to defuse the situation, with calls for dialogue between tribal leaders, local authorities, and the central government.
