2 Killed , 9 injured in a Blast Outside Islah Party Headquarters in Yemen's Taiz
Taiz -- A child and another man were killed, while nine others including a young girl were injured on Thursday, December 18, after an explosive device detonated outside the headquarters of Yemen’s Islah Party on Jamal Street in central Taiz, southwest Yemen.
Eyewitnesses reported that a motorcycle carrying two men and a child arrived at the party’s gate, carrying a battery and a small solar panel in an apparent attempt to bring them inside.
Witnesses said that as one of the men dismounted and placed the battery on the ground, a powerful explosion shook the area, killing two people including the child and injuring nine others with varying degrees of wounds.
The incident sparked panic in the busy district, while local security authorities launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of the blast and identify those responsible.
