UAE Delivers 1,000 Food Baskets to Orphans and Displaced Families in Yemen’s Western Coast
Al-Mokha – The United Arab Emirates has distributed 1,000 food baskets to orphans and internally displaced families along the country’s western coast.
The aid was delivered through the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) as part of the UAE’s broader initiative to alleviate suffering caused by years of conflict and displacement.
The food baskets, which contain essential staples such as flour, rice, cooking oil, sugar, and canned goods, were distributed in several districts including Al-Mokha, Al-Khawkhah, and Hays.
Beneficiaries included hundreds of orphaned children and families who have fled violence in other parts of Yemen and are currently living in temporary shelters.
Local officials and community leaders expressed gratitude for the UAE’s ongoing support, noting that the assistance comes at a critical time as many families face worsening food insecurity and limited access to basic services.
The Emirates Red Crescent emphasized its commitment to continuing relief operations in Yemen, particularly in underserved coastal areas.
Since the beginning of the year, the ERC has delivered thousands of food parcels, medical supplies, and clean water initiatives across multiple governorates.
This latest aid delivery reflects the UAE’s enduring partnership with the Yemeni people and its dedication to humanitarian principles in the region.
