Sana'a -- Local residents and field sources have reported an unprecedented security and military mobilization in Sana’a, the Yemeni capital under Houthi control, with large numbers of armed Houthi fighters deployed across the city’s main streets. 

The most notable concentration of forces has been observed in the Al-Jiraf district, where witnesses described checkpoints, patrols, and heavily armed units stationed at key intersections.

According to residents, the deployment began suddenly late Saturday night and continued into Sunday morning, creating a climate of fear and tension among civilians. Sources indicated that the Houthis have reinforced their presence with armored vehicles and pickup trucks mounted with machine guns, suggesting preparations for a possible confrontation or crackdown.

The widespread mobilization comes amid rising speculation about internal disputes and security concerns within the Houthi leadership, though the group has not issued an official statement explaining the measures. Analysts warn that such deployments often precede arbitrary arrests, raids, or intensified control over opposition voices in the capital.

Civilians in Sana’a expressed concern that the heavy presence of armed men could lead to restrictions on movement and heightened risks of clashes, further exacerbating the already fragile humanitarian situation in the city.
