Arin Front Declared Closed Military Zone in Shabwa After Attack
Shabwa — The leadership of the Arin Front announced today that Arin and surrounding areas in Shabwa governorate, eastern Yemen, have been classified as a closed military zone and theater of operations, with civilian movement banned until further notice.
The decision follows an attack on the Arin camp, located along the road leading toward Hadramout. In a statement, the front’s leadership described the incident as a “treacherous and cowardly assault” carried out by armed groups outside state authority, warning that it had triggered a dangerous escalation on the ground.
According to the statement, the measures aim to protect civilian lives, prevent the exploitation of their movements, and secure the operational theater to ensure swift resolution and the restoration of security and stability.
Under the new directives, civilians are strictly prohibited from moving or being present within the Arin Front and adjacent areas. Approaching combat sites and frontlines is also banned, with authorities stressing the need to comply with instructions issued by checkpoints and military units deployed in the field.
The announcement underscores the tense security situation in Shabwa, where clashes and armed activity continue to pose risks to stability in Yemen’s eastern regions.
